Meet Mr. L
My name is Laurent Plaisimond, and I am a seasoned professional in the field of education with years of experience in working with children in an educational setting. I hold a BCBA license (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) and possess a teaching license for moderate special education K-8th grade. Over the past decade, I have taught a wide range of subjects to students aged 5 to 14, including reading, math, volleyball and tennis.
I’ve worked at a Brookline public school as a paraprofessional while simultaneously pursuing my Master's degree in Moderate Special Education for K-8. Most recently, providing services to adults through therapeutic sessions tailored to help create action plans that align with your values.
I help adults develop and maintain volleyball and tennis skills. Teaching adults is a great way to meet and network with different professionals for my Chew Ya Food Podcast and the segment called Learning on the Job.

Ubuntu is a philosophy emphasizing humanity existing through our awareness of each other. Through in person meetings we hope to dive into the teachings of this philosophy and bring it to larger groups of individuals to better our sense of connectedness.
Individuality and the rat race has us clamoring for ourselves and missing the fact that together we rise.
By sharing space for each other, listening to each other's points of view and stories, we create better understanding. Along with that understanding we can organize our actions and broaden our networks.
Through conversation, value alignment, and projected impact it is my hope that we can collaborate and create spaces for people to be heard and respected. Hoping to connect resource providers directly to the people in need of their support. If you know of any nonprofits looking to support please bring that knowledge to this group. Through this monthly meeting we can aggregate information and support for families in Hyde Park and neighboring communities.
1st meeting topic:
1) Introductions: What is Ubuntu?
2) How can we incorporate this into our everyday lives?
3) Share your experience with advocating for yourself, someone else, or being advocated for.
